A holiday-themed event will be taking place today in Adel with the potential for people to earn a prize. 

The Thanksgiving Toss Free-Throw Contest will be taking place today at 2 p.m. at the District Administration Center in Adel for everyone to take part in as no pre-registration is required and there is no cost to participate. 

Teams must consist of one parent and one child from the same family and the teams will shoot 30 free throws, 15 per person. There are five age divisions for ages 8-18 and the winning team from each division will win a gift card to the Adel Fareway.
