
The Dallas County Board of Supervisors heard a Des Moines Airport Authority new terminal presentation at their regular meeting Tuesday.
The presentation was to discuss expansions to the Des Moines Airport which would feature a new terminal. The discussion involved Dallas County contributing money toward the cost of the project, in the amount of $2 million paid over a 4-year span.
Also, the Board approved the abatement of mobile home taxes for a mobile home which moved out of the County or is impractical to collect taxes. In addition, the Board voted to wait on a facilities mower purchase pending more information.
The Board held an EMS affiliation project workshop to discuss the affiliation between Dallas County EMS and the Minburn Emergency Rescue Team. The affiliation helps by providing training, relief and aid by cross-rostering department staff as well as Dallas County EMS providing services and training to the Minburn Fire District. Dallas County EMS also provides training to the Minburn Emergency Rescue Team. Also, the workshop was to discuss other affiliations with other emergency services in the county.
Finally, the Board discussed the reprecincting of Dallas County with the potential new map for precincts which the Board had a consensus of approval but no action was taken as the ordinances need to be rewritten and discussed future county and court space needs but no action was taken.
