When the Panorama Panthers girls basketball team steps out onto the court for their first regular season game next week, they do have goals in mind.

The Panthers are coming off of a good season last year where they finished 19-5 on the season and coming into this season head coach Kylee Boettcher says the Panthers have goals for the season, that will hopefully lead them into the postseason.

“We have a lot of game goals, we don’t like to necessarily put a big goal for the end of the season. We think about, winning a game is an outcome, winning the conference might be an outcome and making it to the State Tournament will be an outcome of reaching those daily practice goals or daily game goals.”

Boettcher tells Raccoon Valley Radio the team has a lot of defensive goals that the team works on throughout practices. Boettcher says there is also another large goal for the season.

“One big one, just working on that team chemistry, talking on the floor. Your most successful teams have that and so we are just trying to find ways to build that and give the girls the confidence to do that since we do have quite a few freshman and sophomores on the team.”

The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team will take the floor for the first time next Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m. in Panora against the Mount Ayr Raiders.
