During a busy holiday season, food pantries are in need of even more assistance.
Stuart Cottage Pantry Director Viola Jones says the pantries busiest months are from November until February due to the holiday season. Jones explains what type of foods they are looking for.
“Chicken noodle soup and creamy chicken soup, and sugar, flour and vegetables. We need carrots and green beans and corn and boxed potatoes. Any food product, but those things we run out of all the time.”
Jones also states they accept other household items like toilet paper and paper towels. She says if an individual is willing to donate contact the pantry and drop it off during their open hours. The Stuart Cottage Pantry is open on Wednesdays from 1:30pm until 4:30 as well as the fifth Monday of the month.
