A nonpartisan association selected a local attorney in the Guthrie County area as president earlier this month.
The Iowa County Attorney Association selected Guthrie County Attorney Brenna Bird to represent a prestigious group of elected county attorneys in Iowa. Bird describes her focus on being elected president.
“I always think it’s important that rural counties are represented as part of our state associations because we can have some unique needs and we always need to have a voice and a seat at the table. One of my priorities, too, is helping victims of crime and trying to do everything we can to help them through the justice process because it’s not easy.”
She adds that another priority is focusing on public safety. Bird stated that all 99 county attorneys got to vote and she will take over as president in the next year.
