Guthrie Center is looking to add additional equipment to a local park. 

Guthrie Center Mayor Mike Herbert says the Guthrie County Arts Council and Guthrie Center Parks and Recreation Board are looking to implement a musical playground in a park. Herbert explains what a musical playground is.

“Different things that make noise, that can make music, you know, so it’ll be interesting to see, I’m looking forward to it myself. You know, just to see what kind of noise I can make.”

Herbert says the likely option is putting the musical playground in Mitchell Park. He states he would like to make a decision on it soon so it can be implemented in the spring of 2022. According to the Arts Council, the musical instrument set they are going to get is called the botanical garden.
