For one town in Dallas County, a fun holiday celebration will kick off this week with plenty of activities for people to take part in.

The Hometown Holiday Celebration will be from December 3rd-5th with activities including lighting of the trees and wreaths among other things. Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Director Deb Bengtson says the Holiday Home Tour, which is on December 5th, will make a return to normal this year as last year it was held virtually.

“It is not a virtual tour at all. It is you come in and tour the home. We are only selling 250 tickets, so we are trying to keep the numbers down, being conscious that COVID numbers are spiking up a little bit at this time. We don’t want a lot of people touring the homes, so you need to get your tickets early.”

Bengtson tells Raccoon Valley Radio it’s a good feeling to have the activities being held a little closer to normal this year. Bengtson encourages people to come out and have a good time at the celebration.

“There’s a little bit of something for everyone. There is kids crafts, there is outdoor activities in the lighting ceremony and carolers outside, there’s sampling of recipes, there’s shopping. You can really pick and choose what excites you the most and where your comfort level is.”
