The Polk County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the victim from Perry that was involved in a fatal crash this past Monday. 

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of NE Grimes Boulevard and NE Beaverbrooke Boulevard in Grimes at approximately 10:40 a.m. November 22nd. Forty-seven-year-old Faustino Mendez Castro of Perry was killed as a result of the crash. 

Preliminary reports show that southbound traffic was stopped for a red light and the operator of a Ford truck failed to stop at the red light and rear ended a 2008 Nissan Sentra, driven by Castro, pushing it into a trailer being towed by another truck.
