A state representative stands by the governor’s stance on vaccine mandates.

House District 20 Representative Ray Sorensen says he voted for Governor Kim Reynolds legislation for employees to be able to apply for vaccine exemptions and unemployment benefits for anyone fired for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Sorensen states that having a strong workforce is important.

“Allow folks that have religious and medical exemptions to take take part in those and keep their jobs, I mean, we’re facing a workforce shortage here. And I think it’s kind of a ridiculous move to work backwards and and fire folks and get rid of a workforce that you desperately need.”

He also says that it is time to get back to normal.

“And so I get some of the earlier steps that were taken, but, you know, after completely kneecapping the economy and throwing a bunch of mandates at the wall and seeing what will stick, I kind of think people are starting to kind of see through those tactics.”

Sorensen tells Racoon Valley Radio that he believes vaccine mandates on businesses are unconstitutional and believes in freedom of choice.
