The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center School District sees a slight decline in enrollment this year.

Superintendent Dennis McClain says the total enrollment is down due to a couple of factors.

We graduated a larger class than we’re bringing in with kindergarteners. And then the other piece of that is we had a number of students who were being served remotely last year and have decided to homeschool this year. We don’t get any funding for those students. So between those two things that’s caused a decrease in enrollment.”

McClain states on a positive note that they have more students open enrolling in than out. Certified Enrollment for AC/GC is down 9.9% from 406 to 396 students and 39 students have open enrolled out to 54 who have enrolled in.
