As motorists are driving a state highway in Dallas County, tomorrow marks the beginning of new speed limit zones.

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) beginning tomorrow, 50 mile per hour speed limit signs will replace the 55 mph signs on the southside of Adel between 302nd Place and Timberview Drive. 

Additionally, the current 45 mph along Highway 169 between Timberview Drive and Greenwood Drive will be replaced with 40 mph. The changes are a collaboration between the City of Adel and the DOT to ensure safety on Highway 169 as Adel continues to expand and increase in population.
