Greene County Public Health continues to administer COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots.

Public Health Director Becky Wolf tells Raccoon Valley Radio there’s been positive response from the adults who are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine.

“The adults have been very anxious and good about coming in and getting their boosters and seeking us out. I think that’s very typical of all of the providers that are giving the vaccines, that they’re giving lots of injections everyday. That makes us happy because that increases our ability to fight off the pandemic and it helps people to stay well or not be as sick with the COVID virus.”

Wolf points out they’ve been pleased with the response of the younger aged children that recently became eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine for kids 5-11 years old.

“The parents were very excited to be able to get that. I just think it’s going to take some time, just like it did for everybody else. Because that really is going to be a game changer if we can get as many kids (vaccinated) because remember they are the shedders and spreaders of not only COVID-19 but influenza and all the other respiratory infections.”

Greene County Public Health offers COVID-19 vaccines for adults, as well as the booster vaccine, and the pediatric vaccine with Pfizer for kids 5-11 years old. Information to schedule an appointment can be found below.
