The Iowa High School Football Coaches Association has selected the coaches for the 2022 Iowa Shrine All-Star Football Classic and Greene County head coach Caden Duncan has been selected as an assistant coach for the South squad. The game is set for Saturday, July 23 at 4 p.m. inside the air-conditioned UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.

Scott Heitland of Dallas Center-Grimes is the South head coach and Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio he will be the South offensive coordinator. Other assistants on the South are Jared Barnett of Des Moines Roosevelt, Lucas Stanton from Solon, Mike Stuart of Interstate 35, Donnie Sears from Sidney, and Audubon’s Sean Birks.

Steven Milder of West Central (Maynard) is the head coach of the North. His assistants are Tim Lovell of Linn-Mar (Marion), Jim Tighe from Spencer, Derrick Elman of Humboldt, Chad Beerman of Waukon, Brad Schmit from Columbus Catholic (Waterloo), and Eric Walkingstick of Akron-Westfield.

The 2022 game will be the 50th in the series, which has raised over $2,860,000 for the Shrine Hospitals for Children. Player rosters for the July 23 game will be announced at a later date.
