The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During open forum, Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams mentioned that the County Emergency Management Commission initially met and will discuss whether or not to make the emergency management coordinator position full time or part time due to the recent retirement of Dennis Morlan.

The Board then approved the County Recorder’s report of fees for November of $36,642 and appointed Supervisor Dawn Rudolph to the County Emergency Management Commission. They also heard two 2023 fiscal year funding requests from Elderbridge Agency on Aging for $8,320 and Greene County Fair Board for $24,000. The Supervisors took no action following the requests.

Finally, the Board held a discussion on property valuation as it pertains to where the MidAmerican Energy wind turbines were located and tax increment financing from them. It was recommended to not heavily fluctuate property valuations with the designated townships, but also designate TIF funds to pay for the $5 million expense for the Greene County Career Academy.
