The Perry City Council approved appointing a newspaper for official publications and notices at their regular meeting Monday.

Also, the Council approved a pay application in the amount of $479,245 to Woodruff Construction for the wastewater treatment facility improvements and an amendment to the solar lease agreement with Interstate Power and Light Company to allow access to the City’s Brownfield property to Impact7G staff and students and faculty from Drake University for research purposes.

Also, the Council approved an addition to the fire department roster in Reverend Andrea Brownlee, a Carnegie Library Museum memorandum of understanding to provide cooperation in interpretation and limited operational management for five years.

Additionally, the Council approved the acceptance of a public utility easement and releasing the rights to the existing easements across the same properties to correct an error that involves a improperly placed public utility easement and approved an affiliation agreement with Dallas County EMS for the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.

Finally, the Council approved the first reading of changes to the fireworks ordinance in Perry that would prohibit the use of consumer fireworks within the city limits of Perry as well as provide updated language for the permitting of display fireworks. The next reading will take place at the December 20th Council meeting.
