The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board will hold its organizational meeting following last month’s school board elections.

The meeting will start with election of board president and vice president, along with appointing the board secretary, treasurer and school business official. Other items to organize for the school year include appointing an equity and affirmative action coordinator, naming official depositories and approving official newspaper publications.

Next, the Board will consider approving a homeless coordinator position, a change order for the new elementary school, adjusting substitute pay, shades for the new elementary, a school board contract negotiation team, a modification for high school seniors with the current school calendar and setting a public hearing for next year’s school calendar.  

Additionally, the Board will consider for approval physical education exemptions for high school students for next school year, fundraiser requests and a Morningside University agreement for Teacher Education Clinical Experience Placement. 

Finally, the Board will discuss 2021-2022 early retirement incentives and receive a preschool update.  

The ADM School Board will meet at 6 p.m. tonight in the District Board Room in Adel.
