A local non profit organization might be helpful in a gift idea for Christmas.
Panora PETS Volunteer Marianne Reeves says they do see more of an excitement for people wanting to adopt pets around the holidays. Reeves reminds people of a few things before adopting a pet for the holiday.
“So, you know, we very much emphasize this is for life, know the animal’s life adoption purpose. So we really strive to make sure that somebody is in it for the long haul and understands what’s involved in investing in a pet. They require food, care, medical attention, (and) love all of those things. So, you know, those are all very important factors.”
Reeves says anyone interested must schedule an appointment at their website to see the pets and there will be adoption profiles on their website, Facebook page and Pet Finder that gives background information about the pets they have for adoption.
