A Bayard man has been sentenced to prison following an incident in Menlo. 

According to court documents, 57-year-old Jeffery John Godron was found guilty by court and sentenced to three years in prison for an aggravated misdemeanor for a second offense of domestic abuse assault and another aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred –  habitual offender. 

The charges stem from an investigation by the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office on April 26, 2020. Godron assaulted a female victim while they were driving from Stuart to Menlo.

He was also ordered to pay over $1,600 in fines and surcharges.
