The next set of hunting seasons in Iowa are currently underway.

According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, late season muzzleloader and late season archery are from December 20th-January 10th. Greene County Conservation Director Tanner Scheuermann reminds hunters to be aware of their surroundings when out hunting for deer during these two hunting seasons. He also reminds hunters that once again this year, the DNR did not issue antlerless deer tags for Greene County.

“Their wildlife crew, their wildlife biologists, they do a lot of work in the off season, throughout the year to determine who gets those tags and things like that. Apparently, Greene County didn’t need them this year.”

Scheuermann also reminds hunters to make sure they have a valid hunting license for these seasons, but they need to be renewed in mid-January for 2022.
