The Perry City Council approved the statement of completion and final acceptance for the airport fuel system upgrades at their regular meeting Monday.
Additionally, the Council approved a professional services agreement with Sambatek for an independent fee estimate to be done for the runway extension project.
Also, the Council approved setting the fiscal year 2022 wages for additional positions and duties that includes interns and administrative support, Carnegie Library Museum staff and an update to the pool manager wage range. The Council also approved the fiscal year 2023 five year airport capital improvement program for the Perry Municipal Airport.
Additionally, the Council approved appointing the city clerk as the authorized city representative for the State of Iowa reprecincting worksheets and certifications which come after the census data. Also, the Council approved a slip-resistant footwear policy for city employees after deputy public works director Josh Weubker applied and was awarded a safety implementation grant to cover the cost of traction devices for all full-time employees and firefighters but required the City to adopt such a policy.
Also, the Council approved Council appointments for various positions and committees as well as standing committees, a scope of work with Davey Resource Group to provide urban forestry services, an ordinance amendment for Chapter 3 regarding boundaries for the drawing of the wards/precincts from the most recent census.
Finally, the Council approved the second reading of an amendment to Chapter 125 relating to fireworks that would prohibit the use of consumer fireworks within City limits and providing updated language for permitting of display fireworks.
