The Dallas County Board of Supervisors approved some sheriff’s office vehicle purchases at their regular meeting Tuesday.
The Board approved the purchase of two new patrol vehicles. The Board also approved EMS affiliation agreements with Adel, Perry and DeSoto to have an affiliation agreement with Dallas County EMS. The affiliation helps by providing training, relief and aid by cross-rostering department staff as well as Dallas County EMS providing services and training.
The Board also discussed the county public information officer designation which would be able to uniformly put out messaging of the county’s position from a specific person, respond appropriately to questions among other things, but the Board took no action on the item.
Additionally, the Board approved the abatement of mobile home taxes for homes that were dilapidated and held the first reading of proposed amendments to Chapter 3 establishing county supervisor districts and election precincts after the most recent census and 12 new precincts have been added. The second reading is scheduled for December 28th at 9:30 a.m.
Also, the Board approved the Pitney Bowes Postage meter lease that will replace outdated equipment, an auditor elections equipment trailer purchase for $27,050 and a certificate of substantial completion and pay application in the amount of $9,358 for the Carriage House restoration project.
