Greene County Public Health has announced a new age group that can receive a COVID-19 booster.

Director Becky Wolf says teens who are 16-17 years old are now eligible to receive a booster shot from Pfizer. The age demographic joins the adult population of those 18 and older who are also eligible for a booster dose of the vaccine. The booster must be administered at least six months from the second dose of the regular vaccine. According to the state dashboard, as of Tuesday, about 47-percent of 16-17 year olds in Greene County have been fully vaccinated.

Greene County Public Health continues to hold flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics at their main office on the B Level of the Greene County Medical Center. The clinics are from 9am-noon on Tuesdays and from 1-4pm on Thursdays. Wolf encourages anyone wanting to get a flu or COVID-19 vaccine or a booster dose to schedule an appointment by either clicking the link below or calling them at 515-386-3228.
