
The Nevada girls’ basketball team was a 53-22 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference winner over Greene County in Jefferson on Tuesday night. The Rams head into the break at 1-7 overall and 0-6 in the conference after losing for the seventh straight time. The Cubs improv to 4-2 in the league and 6-4 overall. The games were heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Brianna Habben and Emma Shipley each scored seven points for the Rams, who unofficially were nine of 38 from the floor and two of eight shooting free throws. The Cubs went 21 of 59 from the floor and six of 10 from the charity stripe. A balanced Cubs’ scoring attack saw Madelyn Dunham score 11 points with 10 each from Contessa Borwick and Bridget Cahill.
