During the colder months people usually spend more time indoors, and one upcoming program offers a way for people to get outside.
The Dallas County Conservation Board will be offering the Shake Your Winter Blues program at the Voas Nature Area from 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. December 29th. Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist explains details of the program.
“This is targeted for times when people are getting a little cabin fever, kids are at home and they need to get out and burn off some energy, and so we want to make sure that people know that our parks and rec areas don’t just close during those times, they are still open”
Gilchrist tells Raccoon Valley Radio a naturalist will be on hand to tell them more about the area including things like what animals are there and along with other features. An additional program will also be held on January 17th at the Forest Park Museum in Perry.
The programs are free to attend but registration is required. To register you can go here.
