Thursday, December 23rd

5:05am: An officer assisted a semi driver, who was having mechanical issues at 220th and Mulberry Streets.

7:31am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of Hwy. 30 East.

8:09am: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Kevin Conway of Urbandale being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

9:44am: Skylar Johnson spoke to an officer about what he believed was Harassment. The officer found no evidence of a law being broken in the matter.

11:48am: Nicole Peckumn reported a Stray Dog in the 700 Block of West State Street. The officer returned the animal to the owner and issued a Verbal Warning for the “Animal At Large.”

2:03pm: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Marlene Smith of Coon Rapids being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

2:39pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Toni Hammond of Ankeny being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”

2:45pm: Mike Klauer reported a Careless Driver on 220 th Street, heading west towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

2:57pm: An officer assisted a motorist experiencing mechanical issues at 220th and Elm Streets.

3:49pm: An officer assisted with a Medical Call in the 400 Block of West Washington Street.

4:58pm: The Wild Rose Casino requested an officer at 777 Wild Rose Lane, for a subject on the Gaming Floor who had previously signed a Self-Exclusion Form. The officer located the subject and issued a Summons to Appear to David Michael Mills of Des Moines for, “Trespass.”

8:44pm: A Polk County Deputy requested assistance from a Jefferson officer in locating a subject in Jeferson to gather their personal information. The officer located the subject and forwarded the information back to the deputy.

9:46pm: An officer was assisted by a deputy in arresting Anthony James Peterson, 32 of Jefferson for an outstanding Jefferson PD Arrest Warrant for , “Violation of a Protective Order.” The warrant is the result of an investigation that began in mid-December at the Greene County Court House during a court event.

10:44pm: Dalton Weber requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 300 Block of North Oak Street. The officer made contact with the subject, who was fine.

Friday, December 24th

12:36am: While conducting Park Checks, an officer located Graffiti on the Russell Park Shelter house. The officer will advise Park & Rec.

9:43am: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 250th Streets resulted in Hannah King of Ankeny being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

10:31am: Doreen Tuhn reported a possible Phone Scam Call. A male subject had called her twice and advised her not to contact him again. Tuhn ended the call and did not give any information to the caller.

11:06am: Bruce Binkley requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 300 Block of South Wilson Ave. The officer made contact with the subject, who advised they were fine.

3:46pm: Fareway reported catching a female shoplifter in the act at 1207 North Elm Street. Officers arrived and spoke to a manager and approached the female after she left the business. The officer located items in her purse, which she had not paid for in the value of $13.60. Linda Ann Johnson, 50 of Perry was issued a Summons to Appear on a charge of, “5th Degree Theft – Simple.”

8:19pm: Brody Rickheim reported hearing a someone screaming and beating on windows in the 900 Block of West State Street. The officer did not locate anything in the area.

9:58pm: An officer assisted a homeowner in the 200 Block of East Monroe Street, who was locked out of her residence.

Saturday, December 25th

4:46am: Ryan Brown reported hearing screaming in the 900 Block of North Pinet Street. Brown advised a vehicle was now parked across the street from his residence. The officer located the empty vehicle. He later spoke to a male, who was there retrieving the truck.

8:07am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1000 Block of West Washington Street.

8:44am: A caller advised of hearing screaming on the southwest corner of Jefferson. The officer checked the area of town and did not locate anything out of the ordinary.

1:10pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Head Streets resulted in Stacy Spratt of Oelwein being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

6:24pm: Craig Kinsey reported a fully dressed mannequin lying in the alley in the 900 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the item.

10:25pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of West Russell Street.

Sunday, December 26th

1:07pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1200 Block of Westwood Drive.

2:22pm: An officer is investigating a Hit & Run Accident, which occurred at 106 West Washington Street. A 2020 Chevrolet K1500, owned by Nate Byerly of Churdan, was parked in the lot and received damage to the rear side, estimated at $400.00. Witnesses gave the officer a description and plate information of the other vehicle involved. The officer is working to obtain video of the event. The investigation continues.

5:12pm: An officer checked on a driver sitting on the roadside near Wall and North West Streets. In conversation with the young driver, the officer learned she had a Minor’s School Permit. The officer issued Ava Jablonski of Jefferson a citation for, “Violation of a Minor’s School Permit.”

5:34pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 300 Block of East Harrison Street.

6:32pm: Gabe Jensen reported a possible Intoxicated Driver near 106 West Washington Street. The officer located the reported vehicle and followed it for several blocks. The officer did not witness any infractions of law.
