It’s break time for Greene County’s high school basketball teams. We take a look at statistics for the 4-4 boys with just under 40% of the regular season completed. Coach Chris Nelson’s team started 0-2, won four straight, and has dropped the last two games. They’ll open 2022 in Webster City on Jan. 4 on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com as part of a girl/boy doubleheader.
The shooting percentages are lower than most would like as the team is at 41.2% from the floor, 26.7% on three-point shots, and 57.3% from the free throw line. The Rams are scoring 59 points per game and giving up an average of 65 per contest.
Junior Richard Daugherty has the top scoring average on the team at 17 points per game with junior Jesse Miller at 14.5 and senior Bryce Stalder next at 10.5. The Rams have been without senior Max Riley, a starting guard all last season due to a broken fibula. Riley is expected to start practicing soon and could see action as early as sometime next week.
