Dallas Center – Grimes 2021 girls soccer team was able to go on a special run, as the team was able to finish the year with a 15-6 record and also be runner up in the state soccer tournament as well in 2A.

The Mustang program was able to grab a second place finish in the Little Hawkeye Conference, and also were able to pick up some big non-conference victories including a win over Johnston.

At the state tournament, DCG won in the quarterfinals over Lewis Central 4-3, Norwalk 1-0 in the semifinals, and then eventually bowing out to the state champion Waverly-Shell Rock 5-1. It was a terrific performance by the program as they played excellent soccer throughout the season, while playing their best of the year during postseason play.

For the Mustangs, they lose some key players from their team last year but will be having some big returning players coming back for 2022, as they hope to finish with a great record once again and make a run towards the state tournament as well.
