A local police department is partnering with a control authority for the state of Iowa to prevent the underage sale of certain products.
The Stuart Police Department is participating in a program with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division for tobacco, alternative nicotine and vapor product education and enforcement called “I-Pledge.”
I-Pledge focuses on retailer training and enforcement of Iowa’s tobacco, alternative nicotine and vapor product laws. As a part of the I-Pledge program, officers will carry out compliance checks on local establishments.
The Stuart Police Department hopes by partnering with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division they can educate clerks and maintain a compliant retail environment in the community.
