Harlan Community and Perry provide the opposition tonight when Greene County has its one and only home wrestling action of the season. It begins at the high school on the northwest side of Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. with the Rams vs. the Cyclones. Perry and Harlan Community wrestle second, with the Blue Jays and Rams rounding out the night. Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams have a 9-3 dual meet record while the Cyclones are 4-3, and the Blue Jays have a 3-12 mark.
Between the first and second dual meets will be Greene County Senior Night introductions, then between the second and third dual meets, 2021 State Champions McKinley Robbins and Kale Petersen will be introduced. Tonight’s meet is the first time in front of the home crowd since they won their titles. Robbins won the Class 2A title at 120 lbs. for Greene County while Petersen won the 106 lbs. crown in 1A for West Fork of Sheffield, then transferred here at the start of the current school year.
It’s the only chance to see the Rams wrestle at home this season.
