The Stuart City Council met Monday.

The Council approved to start hiring full time employees in the Public Works Department for streets and sewer for $15 per hour with benefits, and they also approved a project assurance form for the downtown housing grant for Hotel Stuart.

The Council also held a public hearing on the Urban Renewal Plan Amendment and approved it as presented.

Additionally, the Council approved the 2021 Community Development Block Grant, legal services agreement between the City of Stuart and attorney Duwayne J. Dalen Attorney and set a public hearing date on January 24th  to vacate a portion of South Fremont Street for a Water Tower Project.

The Council appointed Brian Beldon to the Utility Board and tabled the cemetery mowing bids and the city financial framework for further evaluation.
