There is financial help for those that are in the healthcare industry and are attending post-secondary education. 

The Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF) is offering 60 scholarships, including one that is up to $7,000 for a two year scholarship and $1,000 for an emergency medical technology/technician certification program. Applicants for the $7,000 scholarship receive the funds over two years and must work in an Iowa hospital for each year the scholarship is awarded. Those applying for the $1,000 award must work one year with a hospital-based or hospital-contracted emergency medical services entity. 

The purpose of the IHERF scholarship programs is to fill healthcare positions that are notable openings. Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in an accredited program and be within two years of completing their education. Deadline to submit either application is by March 31st.
