A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to probation for a June 2021 incident.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Joshua Rodgers pled guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for child endangerment. He was originally charged with a Class  C Felony for child endangerment – causing injury. As per the plea agreement, Rodgers had a 60 day jail sentence suspended and was placed on probation for one year.

The charge stemmed from an incident on June 6, 2021. A witness told Jefferson Police that Rodgers caused injuries to a child, which Rodgers later admitted to and the injuries having been caused prior to June 6th. 

Rodgers was also ordered to pay over $750 in court appointed attorney fees and court costs.
