Several fire departments responded to a structure fire Saturday evening southeast of Jefferson.

Greene County Sheriff and Jefferson Fire Chief Jack Williams says Jefferson, Grand Junction, Scranton and Paton fire departments, along with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a garage fire in the 1800 block of 250th Street around 4pm. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio the garage is a total loss and because there was no water source, several tanker trucks had to haul water from the surrounding communities. He adds no one was hurt in the incident.
