
A Perry man has been charged with multiple felonies after an incident that occurred in Perry.
Derrick Sandy, of Perry was charged with a Class B Felony for second degree kidnapping, Class C Felonies for willful injury and assault while participating in a felony, a Class D Felony for felon in possession of a firearm and misdemeanors for third degree criminal mischief, obstruction of emergency communications, false imprisonment, first degree harassment and assault-use/display of a weapon.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office from January 1st-3rd, several incidents occurred at Sandy’s residence where he allegedly hit the female victim causing her to semi-lose consciousness. He then took the victim’s phone and did not allow her to call 911. Sandy put a gun to the victim’s head and threatened her. He also dragged the victim into a closet where he further assaulted her. The victim was then allowed to make a phone call and eventually leave the residence while Sandy was sleeping.
Sandy was arrested this past weekend and remains in the Dallas County Jail on a $500,000 cash only bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
