The West Central Valley School Board recently tabled a service for their teachers for further evaluation.
Superintendent Rusty Shockley says the Family/Employee Assistance Program is a service that the school can offer that would help students, families and staff with their health by offering counseling and other resources. Shockley explains why the school board tabled the policy.
“The Board just wanted a little more comparison between how our staff is covered with their current insurance policy and how they would be covered and if there is a lot of overlap. So that’s what we’re going to bring them back in.”
Shockley adds the Board has approved the family portion of the assistance program and will revisit this topic in the February meeting. Shockley states that they will send out surveys to teachers to see if they would be interested in this policy.
