The Guthrie County area high school speech departments were successful at this past weekend’s Iowa High School Speech Association’s Large Group District Contest in Ankeny.

The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School Speech Department had all eight groups advance with a Division I-rating that includes Radio Broadcasting, Choral Reading, two Group Improv teams, Group Mime, Musical Theater, Ensemble Acting and One Act. Panorama High School Speech Department received ivision I-rating in four categories, including Readers Theater, two Ensemble Acting and Musical Theater. 

These groups will next perform at the state competition on February 5th at West Des Moines Valley High School.
