
Friday, January 28th
9:08am: A Congregate Meals employee spoke with an officer about a possible Scam Letter. The officer believed the letter to be official and advised her to speak to an attorney.
10:36am: Officers assisted the Iowa DCI in an investigation into a stolen ATM Machine from 777 Wild Rose Lane.
11:42am: A caller advised of juveniles taking items out of a garage at 303 East Lincoln Way Street. The officer spoke to the juveniles and a parent. They advised they were renting the garage for extra storage and provided the officer with the owner of the property’s information. The property owner advised they had permission to be in the garage.
7:27pm: Omega Sang requested officers at 800 South Elm Street for a male who was trying to leave and was under the influence of something. The officer arrived and spoke to the male. The officers mediated the situation and male did not drive from the area.
Saturday, January 29th
1:34pm: A caller advised of a Stray Dog near the 800 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer did not locate the reported animal.
9:55am: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Brett Grundon of Grand Junction being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”
10:32am: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Michael Minton of Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
7:27pm: Karla Holman reported a subject posting things about her on Facebook, which were not true. The officer advised that Social Media is a platform you put yourself on, knowing these things occur. Nothing illegal had occurred. She was advised to seek assistance from an attorney in the matter.
10:03pm: Allen Butler requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 600 Block of North Olive Street. Officers made contact with the female, who advised she was fine.
10:08pm: HyVee reported a male had stolen alcohol from 106 West Washington Street. The business knew the male and provided officers with video of the Theft. The officers are investigating.
Sunday, January 30th
12:46am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 200 Block of South Locust Street for, “Parked Facing Wrong Direction.”
3:26am: An officer secured the building at 600 East Lincoln Way Street, after finding an Open Door.
