
Monday, February 7th
8:18am: An officer assisted a motorist with Mechanical Issues at Lincoln Way and High Streets.
12:51pm: Amber Revell reported damage to her entry door at 103 West Monroe Street. It appeared that an unknown subject(s) had pryed on the door trying to gain entry to the apartment. Entry was not made through the door.
3:29pm: Denny Lautner reported he had fallen victim to a Ransome Ware Email. He opened the email, and his computer went dark. He was later contacted and advised to get $8420.00 in Gift Cards to get his computer back to normal. He did not send the Ransome and was instructed to contact his bank and pay close attention to all his accounts. Remember that these crimes are not able to be investigated, so be careful what you open in your inboxes.
4:36pm: Uvette Winger reported her daughter’s vehicle had been hit while parked at 1901 North Grimmell Road. The daughter left the scene and went home. The other driver had placed a note on the Winger vehicle advising of the accident and provided their information. An accident report could not be done, as both vehicles had left the scene.
6:43pm: Terry Canavan requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 300 Block of East Washington Street. Officers spoke to the subject at his residence, and learned he was fine.
6:54pm: Casey’s reported that a subject had use a card to purchase $30.00 in items from 508 North Elm Street. The subject left the store, and the clerk learned the transaction had not gone through on the card. The officer contacted the subject, who advised he would return and pay for the items.
7:36pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Reed Streets resulted in Douglas Fulton of New Hartford being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
