
The mid-term caucuses were held this past Monday and the Republican and Democratic parties in Greene County participated.
According to the Greene County Republican Party, they had six precinct locations and are currently considering finalizing their platforms to be submitted to the county convention. They are planning on having 50 delegates with ten alternates for the county convention that will be held on March 12th at 9am at the Greene County Courthouse, and the purpose of having alternates to go attend in the place of a delegate who may not be able to make it. The Republican Party officials were pleased with the well-attended caucus on Monday and were excited to see conservatives of all ages attend their caucus.
The Greene County Democratic Party had one caucus location at the Jefferson City Hall Council Chambers. Just like the Republican Party, the Democrats are waiting to finalize their platforms, using their 2020 platform as the foundation. Democratic Party Chair Chris Henning tells Raccoon Valley Radio they had 33 people attend the caucus and are continuing to select all delegates and alternates for their county convention that will be at the Jefferson City Hall Council Chambers at 9am on March 26th.
Democrat Deb McDonald attended and spoke about her candidacy for County Recorder, after taking over for long-time recorder Marcia Tasler, who retired this past October. Other state candidates are available on YouTube.
