The WCV girls basketball had Senior night against Woodward-Granger on Tuesday.
The Wildcats were looking to pick up their 10th win of the season and send the Seniors off with a win at home. The only team in their way was Woodward-Granger. WCV started the game with a quick 12 point lead. They were up 15-3 after the first quarter. They would keep the pressure on and outscored Woodward-Granger 13-3 giving them a 27-9 halftime lead.
Both teams defenses stepped in a big way in the third quarter. WCV only put up four more points. The Hawks would manage to put up six points. The game was 31-13 heading to the final quarter. The fourth was a back and forth affair, but WCV’s offense prevailed in the end. They would win this one, 40-29. WCV ends the regular season with three straight wins to get to 10-10 on the season.
They’ll be back on the hardwood for the Class 2A- Region 8 Quarterfinal. It’ll be on the road at AC/GC. Tipoff is set for 7pm on Feb. 15.
