Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers wrestling will have five wrestlers competing in the district tournament tomorrow at Ballard, with hope of finding their wrestlers finish high enough to qualify for Des Moines next week. They are wrestling in Class 2A District 1 competition.

According to trackwrestling.com, Jake Alexander at 113 will be facing Owen Mayall of Humboldt and Aiden Flora at 132 will be taking on Luke Hartsook of Ballard. Ben Smith will be competing at 145 as he will be going against Christian Eslick of Roland-Story. At 152, Kadin O’Connor will be facing Joe Weydert of Humboldt, and Nathan Tapken will take on Henry Christensen of Ballard at the 195 pound mark.

Alexander and Smith were both able to qualify for the state tournament last year, with both hoping to return this year. Flora, O’Connor, and Tapken will be looking to be first time participants at the state level.

Even though ADM might not see all of these schools, they will be taking on the host Ballard, Gilbert, Humboldt, Nevada, North Polk, Perry, Roland-Story, Saydel, Southeast Valley, Winterset, and Woodward-Granger.

The matches will be beginning at 11 am at Ballard High School. Raccoon Valley Radio will be providing updates throughout the day over the air, as area wrestlers will be looking to make a strong showing.
