It’s high school District Tournament day for Iowa high school wrestlers in all three classes. Greene County has six individuals taking part in Class 2A District 2 at Glenwood High School. There are four wrestlers in each weight class and the top two advance to the State Tournament Feb. 17-18-19 in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena. All three Raccoon Valley Radio stations will have reports today starting in the 1 p.m. hour from seven districts covering all three classes, 1A, 2A, 3A. All districts begin at 11 a.m.

2021 State Champions Kale Petersen and McKinley Robbins headline the Greene County six. Petersen is 7-0 and will be at 120 lbs. and Robbins is 40-3 and will wrestle in the 132 lbs. weight class. Both were Sectional Champions in Harlan last week, as was Gavin Scheuermann at 152 lbs. Scheuermann will take a 38-6 mark into today’s action. Brenner Gallagher is at 138 lbs. and is 31-18. He finished in the top 12 at the 2020 State Tournament at 113 lbs. Nate Black is 32-7 at 160 lbs. and is seeking his first trip to State in wrestling, as is Noble Hoyt, 23-20 at 182.
