The WCV wrestling team sent six wrestlers to Districts. The wrestlers were Braiden Beane, Blaise Beane, Gage Davis, Zach Teague, Ayden Phippen, and Kaedon Lindsay.

The Wildcats entered Districts with one goal in mind. Get to state. Unfortunately it was very tough sledding for WCV. While the team fought hard and had a few guys win wrestle backs. It just wasn’t enough.

WCV had a few wrestlers pick up some wins in third place matches and semis. However none could advance to 2nd or 1st place in their weight classes. This would make all the wrestlers fall just short of State.

While the Wildcats didn’t reach their goal of making it to State, the season was still a success. They were vastly improved from last year. This could be a very good team for the 2022-23 season.
