Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers wrestlers Aiden Flora and Jake Alexander participated in their state tournament matches in Des Moines on Thursday morning, and for Flora he was able to win his first round match to move to quarterfinal action and for Alexander he lost his first round match but was able to win his consolation match.

Flora had a tough first round match at 132 pounds against Blake Engel of West Delaware, but was able to build an early lead as he was able to execute his game plan well. In the third period with a 6-1 lead, he was able to make a quick move to grab the fall at 5:12 and move to the quarterfinals. He will be taking on the top seed in McKinley Robbins of Greene County.

Alexander was taking on Carter Anderson of Albia in the first round at 113 pounds, Anderson was able to put up an efficient effort as he beat Alexander with a technical fall 17-2. Alexander was back again for consolation round later in the morning against Gabino Vargas of Boyden-Hull-Rock Valley, and he was able to win an exhausting match to stay in the tournament 8-5. He will also be wrestling on Friday morning in a consolation match.

For ADMs Flora and Alexander, they will be wrestling on Friday morning with 2A quarterfinals and consolations happening starting at 9 am. All postseason coverage will be on the Raccoon Valley Radio sports network and the home of Tiger athletics True Country K1079.
