AC/GC only had one wrestler make it to the state tournament at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines last weekend but the fanbase was there to root of Tegan Slaybaugh.

Head Wrestling Coach Lane Rumelhart says AC/GC fans had the best fans to wrestler ratio at the tournament. He says the passion the fanbase brought from Guthrie Center helped Slaybaugh a lot of the mat.

“Speaker1: It’s super special, definitely plays a role in his matches, you know, you feed off that energy. They were super smart. Getting down to the match, you know, when you’re 133 pounder, you know where he’s going to wrestle. So they looked ahead and knew what mat he is going to be on, got in late, got right down next to the mat or super loud. It was awesome.”

Tegan Slaybaugh finished fourth at the state tournament.
