The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team punched their ticket to the state tournament Wednesday night with a victory over the Nodaway Valley Wolverines.

The Panthers girls basketball team went into their matchup with the Wolverines Wednesday night just one game away from making the state tournament. The Panthers were able to put up a good performance throughout the night and came away with a 58-41 victory over the Wolverines in Adel Wednesday night.

Panorama Panthers girls head coach Kylee Boettcher says from the opening tipoff of the game the Panther girls were able to control their game and keep their composure. Boettcher says she is happy for the seniors who have been in four regional final games but now are making their first state appearance.

The matchup Wednesday night was a rematch of a game that was played in the regular season as the Wolverines and Panthers girls faced off once in the regular season and the game was in favor of the Wolverines by a final score of 55-54 after a last second buzzer beater shot was good from half court to give the Wolverines the win during the regular season matchup.

The Panthers were officially crowned the Class 2A Region 7 Champions and now are moving to the state tournament that will be held from February 28th to March 5th at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines where the Panthers girls will again look to put together strong performances in hopes to become Class 2A State Champions at the end of the tournament.

With the release of the bracket for the Class 2A state tournament the Panthers girls know they will be facing off against Iowa City Regina who comes into the matchup with an overall record of 20-4 while the Panthers will come into the game with a 24-1 overall record. The Panthers girls will take on Iowa City Regina beginning at 8:30 p.m. March 1st.
