The Churdan Public Library recently received a portion of a federal grant to help improve its resources for residents.

The library was awarded a $5,000 grant from the State Library of Iowa through the American Rescue Plan Act funds. The grants can be used for materials or technology that supports digital inclusion efforts to enable libraries to reach residents or in response to the pandemic and implement public health protocols.

Library Director Shari Minnehan says they used the funds to purchase an After-Mouse interactive play table. She points out the new technology will provide for more interaction between families and friends when they are at the library.
