
Throughout the day today those in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area should be prepared to be weather aware.
According to the National Weather Service there is a slight risk for severe weather today in Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties. Severe storms are possible with the main threat from 2-8 p.m.
Some of the possible hazards include damaging wind gusts, tornadoes and hail. Winds in excess of 35 miles per hour will develop later tonight and hail and damaging wind gusts are possible across much of the state. The tornado risk is roughly five-percent throughout the listening area.
Anytime there is severe weather in Greene, Dallas or Guthrie counties, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage of the storms until the storms drop below severe levels or they move out of the listening area.
