Greene County residents wanting to run for certain public offices in the upcoming primary and general elections can start filing nominations now.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, there are five county elected positions that will be on the ballot for both the June Primary election and the November general election, which includes treasurer, recorder, attorney, and two supervisor seats with district two and three. Each of those seats must have a minimum required number of signatures. For a Republican candidate, they need 45 signatures and for a Democrat, it is 29. The filing period for those seats are from March 7th through 25th at 5pm to the County Auditor’s Office.

Greene County Hospital Trustees has four seats and must have at least 50 signatures, Soil and Water Conservation has two seats and needs at least 25 signatures, along with the Greene County Extension Council needing at least 25 signatures and there are five seats available. These seats don’t need to be filed until August 31st.   

Additionally, township trustees and clerks must have an affidavit filed with the auditor’s office by March 25th and won’t be on the ballot until November.
