The Jefferson Public Library has several spring break-related activities for children and teens.
Youth Services Librarian Stephanie Hall says there are three free movies coming up next week in the basement of the library. The first one is on Monday, March 14th with “Mitchells Vs. The Machines” from 1-3pm, the next film will be “Ron’s Gone Wrong” on Tuesday, March 15th also from 1-3pm and on Monday, March 21st is Disney’s “Encanto” from 1-3pm. Hall says the two Monday movies are open to the first 20 kids, while the Tuesday show is just for the first 20 middle schoolers that register.
“With all of our movies, there is a pre-registration. So there is no cost, but there is a pre-registration. We limit it to 20 because we are in our basement, so limited space. We’ll have popcorn and juice. They will not need anything but themselves and if they are under the age of seven, a caregiver.”
Hall points out another activity during the week of spring break for the teens is the Spring Craft Day from 1-2:30pm on Friday, March 18th in the Teen Department. Participants will make 3-D paper flowers and tissue paper cherry blossom trees that they can take home with them. The deadline to sign up for all spring break activities, except for the movie “Encanto” is March 12th. Registration to see “Encanto” is March 18th.
